Jailers Disciplined After Escape

Authorities disciplined 25 jailers at the Gregg County Jail in connection with the December 23 escape of 34-year-old inmate Jace Martin Laws, of Gladewater. Eight people were suspended without pay for one to three days, and seven received written reprimands. They gave ten the choice of resigning or being fired. Laws was gone for 57 hours before his escape was noticed.
