Dear Friend of Jarvis Christian College:
This letter comes to solicit your organization’s sponsorship or donation in support of the 2021 Unity Prayer Service hosted by Jarvis Christian College on Saturday, January 16, 2021. This Virtual Unity Prayer Service aims to commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Dream and those local heroes. They tirelessly work toward the pursuit of that dream through reflection and fellowship. The service is co-hosted annually by Jarvis Christian College.
Other community organizations/leaders provide an opportunity for the community to fellowship and pray together for the institution, city government, local school district, law enforcement, and area leadership, foster unity between the races, and work toward bringing ethnic healing in and around Wood County and East Texas.
As a community leader and the leader of a socially-conscious organization, it will please you to know that your donation(s) will go towards establishing the Jarvis Community Scholarship to support graduating High School seniors and recent High School graduates from local schools in Wood County and Upshur County. In addition to funding the scholarship program, some of the funds raised will defray the costs associated with organizing this virtual event.
Consequently, we ask that you give generously to this initiative.
