Texas Supreme Court Chief Justice Nathan Hecht says courthouses across the state are just starting to hit their stride again. The Coronavirus forced the Supreme Court to halt jury trials for about 14 months. However, jury trials resumed on the first of June. In 2019 there were roughly 9,000 jury trials in Texas. Last year because of the pandemic, there were only 250.
