Jordan Davis tells Sounds Like Nashville that he remembers the first time he heard himself on the radio. “I was in Houston, Texas. We were outside of a Sprout’s parking lot. It was me and my radio rep, Miranda, and she knew it was coming on. I didn’t know it was coming on, so she was filming me like secretly. And when it hit, I think I was behind a Carrie Underwood song, and so I heard the intro lick and I was just like, ‘Whoa!’ And I think I dropped a couple of bad words, I hope my mom never sees that video. But that’s why you come to town, to get your songs on the radio, whether you write them or whether you’re singing them. And being a radio kid, I grew up listening to 93.7 in Shreveport, Louisiana. It’s just kind of a wild, surreal moment.”
