Lamar County Commissioners Court To Meet This Morning To Consider Budget

The Lamar County Commissioners Court is scheduled to meet this morning at 9:00 am to consider the proposed budget and a review of debt service. Judge Chuck Superville and Commissioner Lonnie Layton, however, say they will not attend the meeting in protest of an agenda item that would limit the discussion to only elected officials and not citizens. Commissioner Lawrence Malone has reportedly been asked to officiate at a funeral and may not attend. The final vote on the county budget is slated for next Monday at 5:30.
