Lamar County Commissioners To Discuss Land Purchase

Lamar County Commissioners will resume discussions this morning about the possible purchase of about eight acres in the 2500-block of North Main near the Highway 271 and Loop 286 intersection. Commissioners Ronnie Bass, Alan Skidmore, and Kevin Anderson favor the purchase to possibly be used to spread out the county facilities in a disaster. However, Judge Brandon Bell and Commissioner Lonnie Layton are urging the court to wait, as they are already planning capital improvement projects.
