The Lamar County Courthouse re-opened at about 1:00 pm Tuesday after the water leak, but it has shut down the elevator. Most of the offices and courtrooms on the east side of the building had water damage when the pipe burst. Some of the offices were closed, but some were open so the public could take care of business.
The Lamar County Court-at-Law will relocate to Paris City Hall for the rest of the week because of a water leak in the air condition system at the courthouse. They will hear cases on the second floor at City Hall, 135 1st St. SE. Commissioners are continuing to assess the situation.
