Lamar County Deputies Investigate Bomb Hoax in Deport

Lamar County deputies say a package at first believed to be a pipe bomb found at a home in Deport was harmless.  The homeowners said they were cleaning up after the former tenants were evicted when they found the suspicious package, threw it out the window and called authorities. A two block area around the home was evacuated and an explosives expert determined the device was a hoax. The investigation is continuing.
