Lamar County Judge Brandon Bell will present the proposed budget for publication on Friday. One of the items recently submitted is for a mental health officer for the sheriff’s office and a custodian to be shared by the Tax Assessor and Sheriff’s Department offices. Commissioners will discuss a proposed tax rate at their Aug. 8 meeting.
