Lamar County Scam

The Lamar County Sheriff’s Office had another telephone scam after someone identified himself as a Sgt. Jones or Sgt. Johnson informed a victim they had missed jury duty. The suspect tried to extort money to have the warrant canceled. The Sheriff’s Office will not call you about a warrant or ask for money.
