Lamar County Sex Offender Remains Under Supervision After Release From Prison

A Lamar County jury has determined that a convicted sex offender currently in prison will go to a treatment facility when he is released from prison in February of 2021 and remain under state supervision. They deemed 53-year-old Eddie Thompson, formerly of Blossom, to be a violent sexual predator. Special Prosecution Unit-Civil Division in Huntsville represented the state and the State Council for Offenders in the civil action represented Thompson.
