Lamar County Sheriffs Investigate Attempted Child Abduction

Lamar County deputies are searching for a man who attempted to kidnap a child on County Road 44130 around 3 pm Saturday. Investigators say the man went into a house, grabbed the girl and fled. He released her after a short distance and hasn’t been seen since. He’s described as a black male, about 5-10 to 6 feet tall, slim build and blond or gold tipped hair. He reportedly has a pot belly.
