Lawsuit Filed Against “Operation Lone Star”

A new federal lawsuit filed on behalf of 15 illegal migrants detained for criminal trespassing aims to shut down Governor Abbott’s Operation Lone Star. Their attorney, Susan Hutchison, claims the trespassing arrests at the southern border attempt at illegal federal immigration enforcement. The lawsuit also seeks financial compensation for those allegedly being illegally detained.

The Governor has another problem. Sunday, Gov. Greg Abbott appeared on Fox News touting a program he’s been pushing for weeks, sending migrants who enter Texas to Washington, D.C., by charter bus. But this time, Abbott asked Texans to contribute their own money to pay for the trips personally. The decision to crowdfund the free bus trips for migrants is a new development from when he initially announced on Apr 6 that Texas taxpayers would pay for it. At the time, Abbott proudly presented the trips as a tough-on-immigration act of defiance against the Biden administration.
