The LeTourneau University men’s soccer team was picked to finish seventh in the 2016 ASC Men’s Soccer Preseason Poll, released on Tuesday. The ASC preseason poll comes as a result of votes by league’s head coaches and sports information directors.

UT Dallas is picked to win the 11-team conference this season after finishing second last year. Behind the Comets were UT Tyler and Hardin-Simmons, who were picked second and third, followed by Concordia fourth, Mary Hardin-Baylor, who rounds out the top five and Ozarks, who was selected just ahead of the YellowJackets.

In addition to the preseason poll, the ASC Men’s Soccer Players named 33 student-athletes to the Watch List. The list is composed of up to three players from each institution nominated by the head coaches. On the list of Players to Watch from LeTourneau includes Antonio Fernandez (senior, midfield, Houston, Texas | Stratford HS), Israel Madrid (junior, forward, Conroe, Texas | Longview HS) and Jacob Malik (sophomore, forward, Austin, Texas | Veritas Academy).

The ASC Championship is November 3, 5-6 and the site of the men’s No. 1 seed are hosting. An automatic berth into the NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Championship will be on the line.
