WOMEN’S GOLF

The LeTourneau University women’s golf team, tied for 8th, after Monday’s opening round of the Loyola Invitational at the Oak Harbor Golf Club in Slidell, Louisiana.

The YellowJackets shot a 373 and is tied with the University of Houston-Victoria. Coastal Georgia leads the tournament with a 318 and they are led by individual leader, Diane Lim, who shot a 73.

The top golfer for LETU is senior Sydney Cash, who shot an 85 and tied her for 15th with four others. Sophomore Melanie Pedigo, freshman Faith Williams, and junior Alisa Wilson are all tied for 38th after posting a 96. Freshman Kristin Boone posted a 99 to round out the top five for LETU. As an individual, senior Kaitlynn Conway shot a 122.

Tuesday’s final round gets underway at 8:30 a.m.

MEN’S GOLF

LeTourneau University senior Houston Moore shot a 78 to lead the men’s golf team in the first round of the Loyola Invitational at the Oak Harbor Golf Club in Slidell, Louisiana on Monday.

Moore is just one stroke back of the individual lead that is held by six other golfers, who all shot a 77. LeTourneau is in sixth place after shooting a 327, Bethel University and Blue Mountain College are tied for first with a 315. The YellowJackets are a stroke out of fifth held by host Loyola University, eight strokes back of Freed-Hardeman (319) and nine strokes behind third which is held by Houston-Victoria (318).

Two strokes behind Moore is junior teammate Juan Rodriguez, who shot an 80. Sophomores Mason Terry and Chris Clark are tied for 29th (84) and tied for 32nd (85), respectively. Junior Seth Walters is tied for 35th after posting an 86.

Tuesday’s final round gets underway at 8:30 a.m.
