LeTourneau University – Sports

 

 

LONGVIEW, Texas – The LeTourneau University Athletic Department has announced that it has entered into a multi-year partnership with Adidas and Tyler Athletics to have the Portland, Ore. and Tyler-based companies become the official apparel and equipment outfitters of LETU athletics.

In reaching the Adidas agreement, 15 of LeTourneau’s varsity athletic programs as well as athletic coaches and staff will be outfitted through Tyler Athletics with Adidas game and training gear as part of the multi-year partnership.

“We are thrilled about our partnership with Adidas and Tyler Athletics,” said Athletic Director Terri Deike. “Adidas has proven itself as a nationally-known leader in athletic apparel and training gear, and Tyler Athletics serves as a reliable and convenient dealer of Adidas and other great athletic equipment.” “The Adidas partnership allows the LeTourneau University Athletics Department to create a unified look and brand for student-athletes, coaches, and fans.” “Our student-athletes will be outfitted in top-of-the-line apparel and equipment which will enhance the student-athlete experience.”

Adidas is a global designer, developer, and marketer of athletic footwear, apparel, and accessories with the mission to make all athletes better. Adidas is the official uniform, footwear, and apparel provider for more than 100 collegiate programs including Arizona State, Indiana, Kansas, Louisville, Miami, Mississippi State, Nebraska, North Carolina State, Texas A&M and UCLA. Adidas has marketing agreements with the National Basketball Association (NBA), National Football League (NFL), Major League Baseball (MLB) and Major League Soccer (MLS).

LONGVIEW, Texas – Looking to build off of last year’s 4-1-2 record at home, LeTourneau University women’s soccer coach John Antonisse has released his 2018 schedule which will feature 12 home games as part of a 19-match regular season schedule.

Of the 19 scheduled matches, LETU will face off in 12 American Southwest Conference matchups while playing one opponent for the first time in program history.

“We have a competitive schedule this fall, and we’re excited to have the opportunity to compete against many great programs in the ASC and our non-conference portion of the schedule,” said head coach John Antonisse when asked about the schedule.

A pair of familiar foes will be on the docket to kick off the 2018 campaign for the YellowJackets, with LeTourneau playing host to Schreiner University on August 31st to open the season before playing McMurry University in a non-conference matchup the following evening on September 1st.

The season-opening three-match homestand will then conclude on Tuesday, September 4 with a home match against Southwestern Assemblies of God University before hitting the road for non-conference games at Rhodes College on Friday, September 7 and first-year program Mississippi University for Women on Saturday, September 8.

ASC play will begin on Thursday, September 13 with a trip to Austin, Texas to take on Concordia University Texas before finishing off the weekend in Belton to take on Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday, September 15.

McMurry University will then make a second trip to Longview for LeTourneau’s ASC home opener on Thursday, September 20 before the YellowJackets play host to perennial power Hardin-Simmons University on Saturday, September 22.

The following two weeks will feature single matches each week as LETU will travel to Sul Ross State University on Saturday, September 29 before turning around to host East Texas Baptist University on Saturday, October 6 to open up a stretch of five-straight home matches.

Centenary College will come to town for a non-conference matchup on Tuesday, October 9 as part of a three-match week for the YellowJackets, with Texas-Tyler coming to Longview on Thursday, October 11 and Ozarks on Saturday, October 13. The homestand will then conclude on Tuesday, October 16 with the non-conference finale against Austin College at 7:00 p.m.

LETU’s final ASC road trip will see the YellowJackets travel to Pineville, Louisiana to take on Louisiana College on Thursday, October 18 and then go to Jackson, Mississippi to take on Belhaven on Saturday, October 20.

The senior weekend will conclude the regular-season schedule and begin on Thursday, October 25 with a home game against Howard Payne University to lead into the senior night on Saturday, October 27 against Texas-Dallas.

The American Southwest Conference Tournament will get underway on Tuesday, October 30 with LETU looking to make their fourth consecutive appearance in the postseason.
