Lions Eliminated Plus High School Basketball In Today’s Sports Update

Saturday night, the Prairiland Lady Patriots defeated Chisum 42-19 in the championship game of the Prairiland basketball tournament.

On the boy’s side, Dekalb won the tournament while the Chisum Mustangs took second place. Prairiland came in third place.

In Van, the Paris Wildcats won the tournament championship after a 63-35 win over # 15th ranked 3A Malakoff.

The Paris Lady Cats took the consolation championship of the Royce City tournament after a 34-25 win over Dallas Christian Saturday.

The Detroit Eagles defeated Huckabay 59-37 To win the Craig Reed Invitational Consolation Trophy in Dodd City.

The Rivercrest Rebels are the silver bracket winners at the Spring Hill Tournament.

Tonight on the hardwood the Paris Lady Cats host the Prairiland Lady Patriots at 6:30.

The No. 21 Texas A&M University-Commerce football team saw its fifth straight trip to the NCAA Division II Playoffs come to a close with a 42-21 loss to No. 4 Minnesota State in the NCAA Division II Regional Championship game on Saturday at Blakeslee Stadium. After a close first half, the Lions fell behind in the second half and could not recover. The loss drops the Lions to 11-3 on the season and their season comes to a close with their fourth consecutive 10-plus win season and the fourth straight playoff run to at least the regional semifinal round. The Lions senior class of 2019 completes their collegiate careers with a school-record 49 victories.
