The North Lamar Pantherette softball team lands two on the Texas Sports Writer’s Association All-State team. Senior Catcher Bailee Nickerson landed as a third team selection while Junior Pitcher Reagan Richardson is an All-State honorable mention. Nickerson will attend Wichita State in the fall, while Richardson is a Texas State commit and returns to North Lamar for her Senior season.

The Sulphur Springs Lady Cat softball team landed six players on the Texas Sports Writer’s Association All-State team. Outfielder Alyssa Abron is a 3rd-team selection while, Pitcher Bailey Haggerty, 1st base Brinklee Driver, 2nd baseman Hannah Crowson, Shortstop Kelsey Wallace and outfielder Sadie Stroud landed on the Honorable Mention list. From Sulphur Bluff, Pitcher Kaylon Hume and 3rd baseman Makenna Morgan are honorable mentions for the 2A All-State Team, while Outfielder Alyssa Morgan is an honorable mention selection as well.

The Mt Pleasant Lady Tigers, Hughes Springs Lady Mustangs, and Mt Vernon softball players are named All-State selections. The Lady Mustangs lands seven on the team with 1st Baseman Shelbie Fickling, 2nd baseman Haylee Wilson, and Shortstop Peyton Blythe as 1st team selections in Class 3A. Pitcher Marisol Kennedy is a 2nd team pick and pitcher Zoe Lanier, outfielder Katelyn Roth, and shortstop Kensley Echols are Honorable Mentions. For Mt Vernon pitcher Madison Whitfield, 2nd baseman Riley Hughes and Outfielder Heather Brown are recognized. And Mt Pleasant’s Ashleigh Cheek is a 3rd-team All-State pick in 5A. Utility Player, Blakely Cheek, and Shortstop Jordan Dickerson are Honorable Mentions.
