Long Police Pursuit Ends in Sulphur Springs

A 20-year-old Dallas area man was arrested in Hopkins County after leading officers from multiple law enforcement agencies on a high-speed chase that began in Royse City on I-30. Greenville police notified Hopkins County dispatch Wednesday night that they were in pursuit of a vehicle that was headed toward Hopkins County. Cumby police located the vehicle and joined the chase and so did Hopkins County deputies and Sulphur Springs police. Spikes were deployed and the vehicle then pulled into a truck stop where the driver was arrested. Brandon Donnell Johnson was charged with Evading Arrest or Detention Causing Serious Bodily Injury. One of the officers suffered a minor injury while deploying the spikes.
