Longview Athletic Trainers To Be Honored For Saving Coach’s Life

Two Longview ISD athletic trainers will be honored tonight (Jan 14) in Austin for saving the life of a track coach who suffered a heart attack on campus. Licensed athletic trainers Deirdre Kay Scotter and Kristin N. Bell went into action when coach Ken Jernigan collapsed during track practice. The two women resuscitated him and continued with CPR until emergency medical personnel arrived.
