Lufkin Apartments Evacuated After Police Discover Bomb-Making Materials

Federal agents and Lufkin Police discovered bomb-making material at an apartment complex, forcing the evacuation of six units. A welfare check over water leaking from an apartment into an apartment below it led to the discovery of methamphetamine, marijuana, and pills, and authorities at first thought it was a meth lab. They later discovered materials commonly used to manufacture explosives. They arrested 37-year-old Matt Hopper was arrested on drug and explosives charges and another man was arrested on warrants. More charges are pending.
