Lynnette M. Watkins, MD MBA, Appointed CMO/COO of Paris Regional Medical Center

Paris Regional Medical Center announced this week that Lynette M Watkins, M.D., has been appointed Chief Medical Officer and Chief Operating Officer effective May 9, 2016. She brings more than 17 years of relevant business leadership and medical experience to the hospital setting, according to CEO Patti Monczewski. “Dr. Watkins’ unique background in hospital administration, as well as her clinical experience as a physician, will enhance PRMC’s goal of a strong administrative relationship with physicians, and the community’s appreciation of excellent patient care through efficient hospital operations.”

Most recently, Dr. Watkins served as the CMO of Abrazo West and Abrazo Maryvale Campuses in Arizona. She has also served in the capacity of CMO at two other hospitals, as well as previous experience as the Vice President for Loyola University Health Systems. During her years in the clinical setting, Dr. Watkins served as an Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeon.

Dr. Watkins’ extensive educational background includes both a Bachelor of Arts and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Missouri; and an MBA in Healthcare from George Washington University. Her medical training includes post-doctoral training at Truman Medical Center (Intern; Internal Medicine), Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary (Resident in Opthalmology), and University of Iowa (Fellow in Oculoplastic Surgery). Dr. Watkins became a Board Certified Ophthalmologist in 2000. She also instructed Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School and was an Assistant Research Scientist at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Dr. Watkins said, “I am the daughter of a physician and educator. I followed in my father’s footsteps as an ophthalmologist and a physician executive. I am very excited to have this opportunity to be a part of such a successful team at PRMC, and serve the patients, physicians and staff.” Watkins brings with her a significant other, Charles Moore, an aviation engineer.  She has one daughter, Joy, who is finishing her freshman year at BYU-Idaho and majoring in business and pre-law. She also has a sixteen-year-old beagle named Cleo.
