Major SSPD Drug Bust

Sulphur Springs PD Lieutenant Buddy Williams stopped a rental car at about 10:00 Wednesday night at the 131-MM on I-30 for a traffic violation, and when he approached the vehicle noticed that all the windows of the car were down and he detected an extremely strong odor of air freshener. He then smelled a faint smell of pot and a consensual search of the vehicle turned up 165 pounds of marijuana. The two female occupants of the car, who were from Odessa, were arrested and taken to the Hopkins County Jail. Bond for each woman ( pictured above) was set at $50,000.
