Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics, Canton Police Department Narcotics, ATF, and DEA conducted three arrest warrants for prominent business owner Michael Goggans 67 of Edgewood. Goggans was arrested at his car dealership in Edgewood for Manufacture and Delivery of Controlled Substance PG 3/4 <28G a State Jail Felony and two Unlawful Delivery or Manufacture with Intent to Deliver Simulated Controlled Substance both State Jail Felonies. During the arrest a search of the business was conducted and 3,404 prescription pills were located along with an ounce of marijuana. The investigations then lead to a search of Goggans’ residence where 19,560 more prescription pills were located for at total of 22,964. The perception pills were an assortment of pills ranging from Hydrocodine to antibiotics. Also located at the residence were three stolen firearms one from 1992, three stolen trailers and a stolen lawn mower were all recovered with the help of Van Zandt County Constable Precinct 4. Two more charges for Manufacture and Delivery of Controlled Substance PG 1 >=400G a Felony 1 and Manufacture and Delivery of Controlled Substance PG 3/4 >=400G a Felony 1 were both added to Goggans’ book in. Goggans was arraigned on all five felonies with a total bond of $350,000 when he subsequently bonded out. The investigation is still ongoing pending further criminal charges.
