A man arrested Sunday after an altercation at the I-30 rest area in Cumby now faces additional charges. Reportedly, 62-year–old Allen Dayne Lawson, of Quitman, engaged in a conflict with a truck driver. The trucker hit Lawson over the head with pliers before a Cumby police officer broke up the fight. Lawson was taken to the hospital for minor injuries and then to the Hopkins County jail, where he became violent and caused damage to a violent cell. In addition to charges related to the altercation, he received felony criminal mischief.
