Authorities received a call about a suspicious person on private property on Hwy 67 just inside the Sulphur Springs city limits, and after arriving on the scene, found a stuck, disabled vehicle. Further investigation led to the discovery of the body of a woman in a nearby field. She had been shot in the head. Its believed that she had been killed in Fort Worth. Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County detectives, as well as a Texas Ranger, developed information leading to the arrest of 54-year-old Luscious Newhouse, III, of Fort Worth. He was charged with murder and is being held in the Hopkins County Jail under $1-million bond.
