Man Dead After Confrontation With Lamar County Deputy

After a 9-1-1 call, Lamar County Deputies found the subject who had left home in a vehicle, intoxicated and armed with a gun. He was at a storage facility on US 271 N., and the person pointed a gun at the officers, causing a deputy to fire. The individual then reportedly shot himself and died. Police have not released any names in the cause, and the Texas Rangers are investigating.
