Man Dead In Gladewater Officer Involved Shooting

A Gladewater police officer shot and killed a man over the weekend following a traffic stop that turned into a high speed pursuit. After the chase, the man exited his vehicle, but refused to obey the officer’s commands. The officer feared for his safety and shot the man in a field in Gregg County.  Witnesses say they heard at least 5 or 6 shots fired. An autopsy has been ordered. Texas Rangers are investigating.
