Man Drowns Trying To Rescue Woman From Oklahoma Lake

A 42-year-old man has drowned while trying to help an older woman. Pauls Valley Police say the woman floated to the center of Longmire Lake on an innertube, and the current kept her from returning to shore. The man swam out into the lake to help her, but went under and did not resurface. Divers recovered his body around 7:00 pm. Firefighters rescued the woman and took her to a local hospital as a precaution.
