Man Pleads Guilty Motorcyclist’s Death In Van Zandt County

One of the three suspects accused in the fatal shooting of a motorcyclist in Van Zandt County has pleaded guilty to the lesser offense of Engaging in Organized Crime. Jeffery Ryan Griffin, 30-year-old of Hewitt, entered his plea to the death of 33-year-old Brandon Edwards of Ben Wheeler and was sentenced to 22 years in prison. Court documents show that Edwards was riding his motorcycle when Griffin and two other men, all members of a rival motorcycle gang, chased Edwards and shot him.
