Man Sentenced For Burying Murder Victim In VZ County

A court sentenced Roger Deloss McCasland, 45, of Mesquite, to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to helping conceal the body of a man murdered in a shallow grave in Van Zandt County. According to a previous report, authorities believe Casey Lynn Spriggs in Dallas County killed Ladarron Perkins. Spriggs and McCasland then drove the body to Van Zandt County and buried it in a shallow grave off County Road 2301. McCasland’s attorney said in court that McCasland was not present at the time of the murder.
