Man Shot By Hopkins County Deputy After Brandishing Gun

A man who allegedly pointed a firearm at a Hopkins County Deputy and a State Trooper was shot by the deputy and was transported to a Dallas hospital. The incident began when the officers responded to a family disturbance in the Reilly Springs area. The suspect fled the scene and was shot after a short chase ended on FM 1567. He will be transferred to the Hopkins County Jail when he is released from the hospital.
