Man Steals Steaks, Arrested After Chase

An East Texas man has been arrested in Upshur County following a pursuit that began in Longview after the man allegedly stole steaks from a Walmart Neighborhood Market. At one point, the chase reached speeds of over 100 mph on Hwy 271 in the Union Grove area.. During the chase, the suspect threw meat he had stolen out of his car, and some of it hit patrol cars involved in the chase.  The suspect was eventually arrested by an East Mountain police sergeant and taken into custody.  His name has not been released.
