Powderly Area Wildfire Now Under Control

All Lamar County firefighters battled a large grass fire Monday afternoon, threatening numerous homes. The fire was north of Paris in the Powderly area, and they had it under control late Monday afternoon. Residents had returned to their homes. They reopened most roads except Northwoods Road and the old Firehouse Road (CR 45200). There were no injuries reported.
