September 12, 2024—Mathews Auto Group’s Pay It Forward program has honored two deserving North Lamar ISD staff members for their dedication and extraordinary efforts in supporting their colleagues and students. Whitney Blount, Secondary Math Curriculum Coach, and Brittany Moreland, Special Education Teacher at North Lamar Intermediate, were awarded for going above and beyond.
Whitney Blount, the district’s Secondary Math Curriculum Coach, was recognized for her tireless dedication to her students and colleagues. Blount, who teaches AP Calculus, Dual Credit College Algebra, and Dual Credit Statistics, has taken on additional responsibilities by assisting with Algebra 2 classes during a colleague’s medical leave. She also creates common unit assessments for middle and high school, leading professional learning communities with a positive and encouraging spirit.
Her unwavering commitment to excellence and support for students and staff has made her an invaluable asset to North Lamar ISD.
“Whitney Blount is an exceptional math instructional coach and teacher who goes above and beyond to support her colleagues and students. Her dedication to ensuring student success, even amidst extra responsibilities, reflects her generous heart and commitment to excellence,” said a North Lamar ISD representative.
Brittany Moreland, a Special Education Teacher at North Lamar Intermediate, was also honored for her compassionate and creative approach to teaching. Known for her dedication to providing students with the support they need, Moreland always finds innovative solutions to help them succeed. Her giving nature extends beyond the classroom, as she consistently assists students and fellow teachers. Moreland’s kindness, hard work, and commitment have made her invaluable to the North Lamar community.
“Brittany Moreland is a passionate and knowledgeable special education teacher who goes above and beyond for her students and colleagues. Her compassion and dedication make her an irreplaceable member of our school,” said a North Lamar ISD representative.
