Medical Examiner’s Testimony Results In New Trial For Death Row Inmate

A Tarrant County District Judge has ordered that a man condemned for a 2004 Fort Worth murder should get a new trial because of the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s false and misleading testimony. Judge Mollee Westfall ruled that Dr. Nizam Peerwani made “false, inaccurate, or misleading” statements in at least ten crucial elements of the prosecution case against Tilon Lashon Carter.
