Mistrial Declared In Lamar County Child Sex Abuse Case

A mistrial has been declared in the child sex abuse trial in Lamar County of 39-year-old Lonnie Ray O’Neal of Sumner. He’s accused on a first-degree felony charge of continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14 as well as two counts of second-degree felony indecency with a child by sexual contact. Judge Wes Tidwell declared the mistrial after a juror admitted that she knew O’Neal, despite saying in jury selection that she did not.
