Monday 08.07.17 Paris Police Blotter

 

 

Paris Police responded to a shoplifting complaint in the 3500 block of Lamar Ave after a suspect allegedly stole several items of clothing and a pair of shoes. The suspect fled the scene prior to officers arriving but he was located in the 3800 block of Lamar Ave. David Holt, 25, then fled from officers but was captured and arrested after a short foot pursuit. Charges against him were enhanced to a felony because of prior convictions.

Paris Polic responded to a burglary in the 500 block of SE 33rd  and made contact with 59-year-old Gary Sewell as he was placing a cooler on the top of his vehicle. The complainant identified the cooler as being the complainant’s as well as a power washer. Sewell was arrested for burglary of a habitation.

 

Officers responded to the 2500 block of N Main in regards to an assault and observed 22-year-old Khalid Williams dragging a woman by the hair.Witnesses said Williams had also thrown the victim to the ground and kicked her. Williams was placed under arrest for felony assault family violence.

 

Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of SE 19th to serve an arrest warrant. Don Aubrey, 47, was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant for tampering or fabricating physical evidence out of Hopkins County and a Delta County felony warrant for evading arrest or detention with a vehicle.

Officers responded to the 500 block of SW 19th to investigate a narcotics violation. Officers made contact with 29-year-old Allen Giles and arrested him on an outstanding Dallas County felony warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon out of Dallas County.

Paris Police are investigating a burglary in the 1300 block of W Houston where a suspect had forced entry into the residence and taken several items including a DVD player and assorted coins. Officers are also investigating a burglary in the 400 block of NE 25th where a TV was stolen. Paris Police was called to the 700 block of SE 8th to investigate the theft of a mattress and TV.

Paris Police located an abandoned Ford Ranger Pickup in the 3800 block of Lake Crook Road. Further investigation showed the vehicle had been reported stolen in Bowie County.

Paris Police are investigating the theft of a dump trailer from the 1300 block of Maple. The trailer was later recovered in the 1100 block of N Main after it was observed sitting on a lot at that location. The investigation is ongoing.
