NBA

Luka Doncic hit a deep, step-back 3-pointer at the buzzer to cap a triple-double on a sprained ankle. The Dallas Mavericks beat the Clippers 135-133 in overtime Sunday to even the playoff series at two games apiece. Game 5 of the best-of-seven series is Tuesday at 8:00 pm.

Houston Rockets are 2-1 and face Oklahoma City Thunder today at 3:00 pm for Round 1, Game 4.

MLB

Texas Rangers has lost eight in a row. Seattle gave them a 4-1 loss Sunday and Texas is now 10-17 for the season. Texas picks up the Athletics today and tomorrow at 7:05 pm.

The Padres got the best of Houston Sunday 5-3. The Astros are now 15-13 and take on the Angels today and tomorrow at 8:10 pm.

NHL

The Dallas Stars are 1-0 facing Colorado Avalanche tonight at 8:45 for Game 3.

PGA

Dustin Johnson is back top at No. 1 in the world and became only the third player to finish at 30-under par or better on the PGA Tour. The numbers that defined Johnson’s dominance go well beyond the $1.71 million he earned for his 22nd career victory on the PGA Tour. It was his second this summer since golf returned from the pandemic or his fifth title in the FedEx Cup playoffs.

HIGH SCHOOL

Texas high school football season opens officially in Texas this week. It will be a season like no other as administrations are attempting to come up with a plan to enact social distancing guidelines and mask-wearing mandates. Or, your district could be like Dallas ISD. They announced it will put all extracurricular activities on hold because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Some student-athletes are planning to protest that decision.
