Monday’s Sports

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (4) lifts his fist to cheers from fans as they carted him off the field. It came after suffering a lower right leg injury running the ball in the second half of an NFL football game against the New York Giants in Arlington, Texas, Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020. NFL

It was a costly win for the Dallas Cowboy’s 37-34 win over the New York Giants Sunday. Their loss was Dak Prescott, and he could have lost his season after suffering a devastating ankle injury. Their next game will be Monday week against the Cardinals.

Today or tomorrow, the Atlanta Falcons should announce that they are moving on without Dan Quinn. The Falcons are 0-5 for the first time since 1997. They fired him after a 23-16 loss to the Carolina Panthers.

MLB

The Houston Astros should have stayed in Dodger Stadium. At least they were hitting the ball there. A few hours south and nothing. Tampa Bay limited the Astros to nine hits in a 2-1 victory to open the ALCS at Petco Park Sunday night. Game 2 is this afternoon at 3:07.

NBA

For the first time since Kobe Bryant’s fifth and final title a decade ago, the Lakers are NBA champions. They ran past the Heat for the 17th NBA Championship 106-93.

NCAA

The game between Baylor and Oklahoma State will not happen until Dec. 12 at McLane Stadium. It’s the COVID-19 hitting sports again, this time causing Baylor to fall below the minimum threshold of available players.
