The Dallas Cowboys snapped their five-game skid by beating the Washington Commanders, and the Tennessee Titans upset the Houston Texans. The Minnesota Vikings earned an overtime win against the Chicago Bears, and the Kansas City Chiefs narrowly beat the Carolina Panthers.

Jimmy Butler scored a season-high 33 points, leading the Miami Heat past the Dallas Mavericks 123-118 overtime on Sunday night.

The NBA is urging its players to take additional precautions to secure their homes following reports of recent high-profile burglaries of dwellings owned by Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis and Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley Jr. You can add to that Kansas City Chiefs teammates Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.

Alabama and Ole Miss tumbled out of the top 10 of the Associated Press Top 25 poll on Sunday. Miami and SMU moved into the top 10 following a chaotic weekend in the SEC and college football. No. 1 is still Oregon, followed by 2 Ohio State, 3 Texas, 4 Penn State, 5 Notre Dame, 6 Georgia, 7 Tennessee, 8 Miami, 9 SMU, 10 Indiana. Texas A&M comes in at 20.

Leading the No. 6 team in the country entering the fourth quarter, the East Texas A&M University football team fell short in a 38-24 loss to the UIW Cardinals in the season finale on Saturday afternoon inside Ernest Hawkins Field at Memorial Stadium. The Lions end the season with a record of 3-9 overall and 2-4 in Southland Conference play, finishing seventh in the conference standings.

The 2024 season ended for the Lions’ volleyball team in the Southland Conference Tournament quarterfinal round with a 3-0 loss to the Southeastern Louisiana Lady Lions on Friday night. East Texas A&M ends the season with a record of 10-19 overall and is tied for seventh in the SLC with a conference record of 7-9, the most conference wins in the Division I era. Friday’s match in the postseason marked the 13th year in a row that the Lions played in the postseason.

The East Texas A&M University men’s basketball team visits its sixth straight in seven games when it plays at Stonehill in Easton, Mass., on Monday at 6:00 pm in a battle of two teams in the NCAA reclassification. The Lions are 1-5 overall, while Stonehill is 3-4.
