The Big Ten fined Michigan and Ohio State $100,000 each Sunday for their football programs’ roles in the postgame melee following the Wolverines’ stunning 13-10 upset of the No. 2 Buckeyes at Ohio Stadium. The brawl started between players from both teams after the Wolverines planted their flag at midfield in The Horseshoe following their fourth consecutive victory over the Buckeyes.

Ohio State, Miami, and Clemson plunged in The Associated Press Top 25 college football poll Sunday following their losses during a wild weekend. Eight top 10 teams moved up one spot behind No. 1 Oregon. They are No. 2 Texas, 3 Penn State, 4 Notre Dame, 5 Georgia, 6 Tennessee, 7 Ohio State, 8 SMU, 9 Indiana, and 10 Boise State.

Returning to play its second home game of the season, the East Texas A&M University men’s basketball team suffered a 77-57 loss to Purdue Fort Wayne on Saturday afternoon at the Hunt Regional Healthcare Court in the Field House. The Lions fall to 1-7 on the season, losing their first game at home, and have lost four in a row overall. The Lions play the first Southland Conference games on the road next week at Houston Christian on Thursday at 7:00 pm and at UIW next Saturday.

After overcoming an 18-point deficit to take the lead in the fourth quarter, the East Texas A&M University women’s basketball team had the lead with less than three minutes to play on Friday afternoon. Still, the Seattle Redhawks scored the final seven points at Global Credit Union Arena at Grand Canyon for the 79-76 win. The Lions hosted Grand Canyon last Saturday to close out the Talking Stick Resort Thanksgiving Classic.
