Here is a milestone! No. 1 Stanford’s 104-61 victory over Pacific Tuesday was the 1,099th win for Tara VanDerveer. She now has the most wins in Division I women’s college basketball history.

They canceled Friday night’s rescheduled football game between No. 7 Indiana and Purdue because of concerns over COVID-19. The second time in two weeks, they announced that officials scrapped the annual contest for the Old Oaken Bucket. It is the first time a football game won’t happen since a two-year hiatus (HI-e-TUS) in 1918 and 1919.

Baylor University officials have made their case during a two-day virtual hearing before the NCAA Committee on Infractions on allegations stemming from the sexual assault scandal that engulfed Baylor’s football program in 2016. ESPN reported Monday that the school’s former head football coach, Art Briles, faces allegations of failing to promote an atmosphere of compliance.

Stephen F. Austin State University Athletics announced Tuesday that the men’s basketball team is unplugged because of COVID-19.

New Diana Lady Eagles’ Haley Manns signed with another Eagles team, NTCC. She is New Diana’s senior standout in their softball program.

The All-District Volleyball team named five Mount Pleasant Lady Tiger players, with eleven players qualifying for Academic All-District. They are Senior Jaycee Woods, Senior Ke’Mya Davis, Senior Autumn Jackson, Senior Ashlynn Brooks, and Junior Trinitee Brannon.
