NFL running back Adrian Peterson was arrested Sunday morning at Los Angeles International Airport, according to a statement from the Los Angeles Airport Police. Peterson, 36, is accused of verbally and physically assaulting his wife on a plane leaving for Houston, where he lives. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, they arrested Peterson about 9:00 am and booked a couple of hours later. He posted a $50,000 bond and was released.

OLYMPICS

Russian teenager Kamila Valieva has been cleared to compete in the women’s figure skating competition at the Winter Olympics despite failing a pre-Games drug test, setting her up for an attempt at a second gold medal. Valieva will not get a medal ceremony moment in Beijing. Nor will any skater who finishes in the top three with her.
