The only monoclonal antibody treatment effective against Omicron is on back-order in Texas. Regional infusion centers in five cities, including Fort Worth, have exhausted their supply of Sotrovimab and won’t receive more shipments until January. It’s the only effective treatment against the latest COVID strain as Omicron’s mutations make other monoclonal treatments such as Regeneron ineffective. The Texas Health Department says supplies elsewhere are also running low.
