More ACM Performers In Today’s Nashville Roundup

Brett Young, whose CMT Crossroads special with Boyz II Men airs tonight, tells TV Insider that the group was his first concert. ”They were my first concert. I think it was 1994 or 1995. They played Irvine Meadows, which became the Verizon Amphitheater in Southern California. They played with Montel Jordan in my first-ever concert. I was 13. That second record called II with “On Bended Knee” was the first time I would call girls at night and sing Boyz II Men to them. They were not only my first concert but the beginning of me being a singer, as well.”

Whiskey Riff says the ACM Awards have announced a new round of performers for their April 7th awards show. Eric Church will perform with Ashley McBryde while Kane Brown will perform with Khalid. Jason Aldean will perform with Kelly Clarkson before she performs with Dan + Shay. Maren Morris will perform with Brothers Osborne. Florida Georgia Line will perform with Jason Aldean. Brooks and Dunn will perform with Luke Combs while George Strait performs with Miranda Lambert.

People magazine claims Brantley Gilbert and his wife, Amber, are expecting a baby girl. They made their pregnancy announcement yesterday with pink balloons.

Carrie Underwood recently caught her son, Isaiah, asleep under a table. She took a picture of him and captioned it with, ‘When you sneak out of bed to spy but fall asleep’

Radio.com claims Tim McGraw is releasing two new books this year. ”Grit & Grace: Train the Mind, Train the Body, Own Your Life” is about exercising while ”Songs of America: Patriotism, Protest, and the Music That Made a Nation” will detail some of the greatest patriotic songs of all time including  “The Star Spangled Banner” and “Born in the U.S.A.”

The Grit book will be released on November 11th while the patriotic songbook will be released on June 11th.

Scotty McCreery tells Billboard magazine that he still drives the truck he won on American Idol. ”The truck is my baby; her name is Loretta [after Loretta Lynn]. I’ll drive that thing till the wheels fall off. When [Gabi and I] got our first puppy, right when we got back in the car, “This Is It” was playing. There’s been a lot of things that have happened like that with this song — it feels like it was meant to be. Every time we hear it, we look at each other and smile.”
