More HS Softball and Baseball and Mavs v Cavs in Today’s Sports

Paris – High school baseball and softball has packed the schedule all week. In district softball action the Prairiland Lady Patriots defeat the Cooper Dogettes 14-7 to improve to 2-2 in district, while the Chisum Lady Mustangs fall to Hooks 10-0. In baseball the Paris Wildcats split a double header against Sanger, dropping the first game 3-2 and winning the second game 4-2. With the win the 25th ranked Wildcats are 10-2 on the season.

The Prairiland Patriots will continue district play this evening when they visit Red River Valley rival Cooper Bulldogs. First pitch is at 4:30.

Mount Pleasant – High school baseball and softball pick back up this weekend with district competition. The after a 16-1 district win on Tuesday night the Mt. Pleasant Tigers take to the diamond on the road against interstate 30 rival Sulphur Springs. The Mt. Pleasant softball team looks to stay perfect in district tomorrow night. They’ll host the Sulphur Springs Lady Cats. The Lady Tigers are 3-0 in district play, first pitch tomorrow is at 6pm.

The Chapel Hill Red Devils will make the short drive to Pittsburg to face the Pirates at 6pm on Friday, while the Mt. Vernon Lady Tigers take on the Paul Pewitt Lady Brahmas in Morris County at 5:30.

Sulphur Springs – High school baseball and softball pick back up this weekend with district competition. The Sulphur Springs Wildcats look to continue early success in 15-5A when host district unbeaten Mt. Pleasant. First pitch tomorrow evening is set for 7pm. The Sulphur Springs Lady Cats will make the trip down I 30 to play the Mt. Pleasant Lady Tigers at 6pm.

The Mt. Vernon Lady Tigers take on the Paul Pewitt Lady Brahmas in Morris County tomorrow night. The Purple Lady Tigers are 1-2 in district play

Last night in the NBA the Dallas Mavericks fall to the Cleveland Cavaliers 99-98. Cleveland’s LeBron James scored zero points, with zero rebounds, assists, steals or blocks. James was given the night off to rest by head coach Tyrone Lue. The Mavs fall to 34-34 on the season and are tied for 7th place in the west. Next Dallas will host the 61-6 Golden State Warriors tomorrow at 7:30.

Tonight the Dallas Stars will occupy the AAC against the Tampa Bay Lightening. With an overall record of 41-21-9, the Stars have 91 points on the season and are currently tied for 1st in the western conference with St. Louis. Puck drop this evening is scheduled for 7:30.

And the first four are in for the NCAA hoops tournament. Last night the Holy Cross Crusaders clinch the 16 seed in the west region with a 59-55 win over Southern. And the Michigan Wolverines knock out Tulsa 67-62 for the 11 seed in the East. The Madness begins today with 16 games in the round of 64.
