Morrison Sentenced for Role in 2014 Powderly Homicide

 

Ashley Morrison, 19, of Lamar County, was sentenced Thursday by a Smith County jury to 30 years in prison for the murder of Annie Sims of Powderly. She must serve at least 15 years of her sentence before becoming eligible for parole. Morrison and her then boyfriend, Christian Sims, killed Sims’ grandmother in 2014. He pleaded guilty and received 35 years.
