Mother Of San Marcos Fire Victim Files Lawsuit Against Apartment Complex

The Longview News-Journal and emtpleasantextra.com are reporting that the mother’s daughter, a native of Mt Pleasant killed in an apartment fire in San Marcos, is suing the apartment complex. Reportedly, 23-year-old James Miranda was one of five people who died in the blaze which displaced 200 people. The lawsuit alleges that smoke detectors at the complex were not working and there was not sufficient safety equipment to prevent the spread of the fire.
