Mount Pleasant High School senior advances to state

Mount Pleasant High School senior, Caroline Rose, was recently selected as the MPHS Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizen. Out of eight high school entries at the local level, they chose Rose to move on to the state level of competition. They awarded her a $500 scholarship, a certificate, and a pin from the DAR. The state winner will be announced in March and will represent the entire state of Texas at the national level of competition.

The Martha Laird Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution sponsors the DAR Good Citizen program in our area. They designed the contest to honor an outstanding young person in a high school’s senior class who demonstrates the four qualities of a DAR Good Citizen: Dependability, Service, Leadership, and Patriotism.

Texas A&M University in College Station has accepted Rose, where she will major in Psychology. She is the daughter of Kevin and Tracie Rose.
